Doinks - An Explanation!
Doink is not a word you will find in the English dictionary. It was invented by Bob Leatherdale who I worked with in Harvester. Neither of us can quite remember when it was, but during a meeting or course or team event we had one of those "blinding flash of the obvious" moments and Bob said "Its a Doink isn't it" - and it just stuck!
There is no word like Doink - it is unique. To summarise a Doink is an "aha" moment when you learn something so obvious you wonder why you hadn't thought of it before.
I have had many Doinks from a whole variety of sources such as reading, TV programmes, courses etc. However, the most powerful Doinks have come from working with great people at different times of my career and the Doink sections are my attempt to recognise this.
Apologies to anyone I have missed or incorrectly recognised - please let me have your feedback in the Guest Book or by e-mail!
